{"id":974,"date":"2025-03-23T17:12:27","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T21:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mfna.org\/rfo\/?p=974"},"modified":"2025-03-23T17:12:27","modified_gmt":"2025-03-23T21:12:27","slug":"why-i-will-never-buy-a-product-from-andre-assous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mfna.org\/rfo\/2025\/03\/23\/why-i-will-never-buy-a-product-from-andre-assous\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I Will Never Buy a Product From Andr\u00e9 Assous"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not long ago, I received an email advertisement from someone or something named Andr\u00e9 Assous.\u00a0 I had never heard of this brand, so I thought nothing of it and deleted\u00a0 the email.<\/p>\n<p>But I continue to get advertisements, now quite obviously spam messages from this Andr\u00e9 Assous.\u00a0 The little bit of research I did on this name reveals that there actually is such a person, and there is such a company.\u00a0 Apparently they are a shoe company.<\/p>\n<p>I have never bought shoes from Andr\u00e9 Assous, and at this point I won&#8217;t be buying shoes from them.\u00a0 This is why, short and sweet.<\/p>\n<p>Since I had never heard of Andr\u00e9 Assous, Andr\u00e9 Assous obviously heard of me by buying my email address.\u00a0 Okay, I know that&#8217;s done all the time; it&#8217;s part of how the Internet functions.\u00a0 On a whim, I clicked on the &#8220;unsubscribe button in the email.\u00a0 Now, I know well enough not to do this, but I was curious to see what would happen.\u00a0 Believe it or not, sometimes this actually <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>does<\/em><\/span> work!\u00a0 But not in this case.\u00a0 The unsubscribe button in the Andr\u00e9 Assous is a dead end.\u00a0 Andr\u00e9 Assous isn&#8217;t even polite enough to throw a &#8220;404&#8221; (page does not exist) error, it&#8217;s just a blank, dead page.\u00a0 Thanks, Andr\u00e9.\u00a0 (The U. S. Federal Trade Commission has a mostly unhelpful web page about <a href=\"https:\/\/consumer.ftc.gov\/unwanted-calls-emails-and-texts\/unwanted-emails-texts-and-mail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unwanted Emails,, Texts and Mail<\/a>, in case you&#8217;re interested).\u00a0 More than likely, Andr\u00e9 Assous is making more money by selling email addresses than by selling shoes.<\/p>\n<p>So, quite obviously, I am somehow now forever cursed to receive spam from Andr\u00e9 Assous. And while I can&#8217;t stop them from sending them, the wonderful <a href=\"https:\/\/c-command.com\/spamsieve\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SpamSieve<\/a> software from <a href=\"https:\/\/c-command.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">C-Command<\/a> makes it so I never have to see them.\u00a0 In the end, the good guys win out.<\/p>\n<p>(I have purposely used Andr\u00e9 Assous&#8217;s name many times in this post.\u00a0 If he or his company scrape the web looking for references, I hope they read this.\u00a0 And know that I curse you and will never hesitate to give you and your company a bad opinion).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not long ago, I received an email advertisement from someone or something named Andr\u00e9 Assous.\u00a0 I had never heard of this brand, so I thought nothing of it and deleted\u00a0 the email.
