{"id":438,"date":"2019-04-03T15:24:49","date_gmt":"2019-04-03T19:24:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mfna.org\/rfo\/?p=438"},"modified":"2019-04-03T15:24:49","modified_gmt":"2019-04-03T19:24:49","slug":"trower-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mfna.org\/rfo\/2019\/04\/03\/trower-power\/","title":{"rendered":"Trower Power"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Just to show I&#8217;m not single-tracking on one topic, I felt it necessary to post about last night&#8217;s concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Robin Trower is one of those musicians that often go unnoticed by the &#8220;trendy&#8221; masses.  That&#8217;s too bad, because the man has produced over 40 albums and compilations in the 50+ years he&#8217;s been in the music business. From 1967 to 1971, Trower played for the band Procol Harum, which had recorded the hit &#8220;Whiter Shade of Pale&#8221; before he joined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.duckduckgo.com\/iu\/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftralfaz-archives.com%2Fcoverart%2FP%2Fprocol_1stf.jpg&amp;f=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Striking out on his own, Trower formed his own self-titled band and began releasing albums.  1975&#8217;s Bridge of Sighs introduced the world to Trower&#8217;s Hendrix-like guitar stylings, and his mark on the music business was made. Still, he&#8217;s flown under the radar to the general public for the most part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.duckduckgo.com\/iu\/?u=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F_H7xHIGlTq8Y%2FS6wCEAKbXLI%2FAAAAAAAABpk%2FfILFqxDKsWM%2Fs1600%2FB000URDE2Y.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But he opened his 2019 tour at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.birchmere.com\/\">Birchmere <\/a>in Alexandria, Virginia on April 2, 2019 to a sold-out crowd.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As this was the first stop on his tour, a number of songs from his latest album, &#8220;Coming Closer to the Day&#8221; were played publicly for the first time.
