• Developed action plans between customers and backline support personnel for time-critical problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Directed installation and training efforts for VERITAS i3 products at Fortune 500 companies including Coca-Cola, IBM, Disney, Boeing, Cardinal Health, Northrop Grumman, and government agencies such as IRS and CIA.
• Provided pre- and post-sales support for a number of Oracle-based products, including creating training and installation documents, providing telephone and onsite support, and working trade show booths in both the U.S. and abroad.

Managing Technical Consultant

• Installed, configured and tuned Oracle7/8 databases for both in-house and client-site operations.
• Trained client DBAs and staff members in the installation and operation of Oracle, methods of performing backup and recovery, tuning, reorganizing and troubleshooting.

• Was one of a staff of twelve responsible for the developing, implementing, and operation of the entire corporate MIS functions for ATI, which, prior to its merger with PRC, was a 2200-employee firm with revenues of over $200 million per year. In addition to programming and interacting with the user community, conducted training sessions for staff members on system internals and utilities, with an eye toward even more efficiency and productivity.

Programmer/Analyst.

• Team member developing the Letter of Credit Control System (LOCCS) for the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, a nationally automated system for distributing funds to federally subsidized housing developments through the Department of Treasury's Automated Clearing House.
• Led a six member team of developers in creating and implementing a PC-based personnel tracking system using dBase III+ for the Office of Finance and Accounting, U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Programmer / Customer Support Specialist

• Evaluated and tested EasyLink system (now owned by AT&T), created billing support programs, researched and assisted customer queries relating to message content, delivery and pricing. Was the customer Point of Contact for the entire U. S. Midwestern region.

Additional Information:

2002 - 2008: Chairman, Northern Virginia Hospitals Local Human Rights Committee (NVHLHRC), a state-mandated organization chartered to assure human rights compliance by member hospitals. (Virginia State Office of Human Rights). Oversaw the preservation of patient rights for seven affiliated hospitals.

Since 1988 I have performed a number of free or low-cost consulting services to local businesses and organizations. From 1992 through 1994 I was a member of the Reston, VA. Chamber of Commerce. I maintain my own personal web site.

An avid distance runner, I have completed eight marathons, eleven half-marathons and numerous races of ten-miles or less distances.
